Okay, so I'm a long time Hitman fan, but this is my first time posting on this wiki. I've bought and played all three games in the World of Assassination trilogy, and I wanted to start a conversation regarding the future of Hitman.
I know IOI probably wanna keep Hitman 3 going for a long time, and after that, they'll probably need to focus on their new James Bond project. I get it, they've split off from Square Enix, so they're not as a big or funded anymore. (Probably why they took the Epic store deal. I know people are mad at them for that, but Epic gives smaller devs like IO lots of money, and they probably needed it.)
But in the meantime, I figured I'd start off an idea chain with you guys to see what ideas you guys might have for future Hitman titles.
Warning: Further Reading Contains Spoilers for the Hitman 3 campaign mode. If you haven't finished the Untouchable Mission, do not read further.
Anyways, so we know at the end of Hitman 3, the ICA has been exposed, and presumable dissolved. With the Constant dead or having his mind wiped, and Providence collapsed, 47 and Diana are effectively working independent now, and the ending cutscene hints that 47 will continue his job of stopping bad guys.
So, I had some ideas for future Hitman games. I think IOI has said that Hitman would be the end of the WOA trilogy. (I might be wrong on that, so if anyone heard otherwise, comment below.) So, any future Hitman games may be part of a seperate story arc, either standalone or in a trilogy. I had an idea for a future Hitman game, when/if IOI decides to make one. If anyone has ideas as well, comment below.
Here's my premise:
There's a war going on/about to happen, involving one or more of the major superpowers, Russia, China, US, or something like that. Using his skills, 47 must infiltrate the higher echelons of the militaries of both sides to stop the war, taking out politicians, generals, that kind of thing. This could allow us to see some incredible locations like Beijing, Moscow. and DC. Who else would like to infiltrate the White House like in Blood Money again? Or take out a high ranking general inside the Pentagon. Maybe even Pyongyang, North Korea! That would be awesome, and somewhere I don't think Hitman has gone before.
I think it could make an interesting story, flesh out what 47 and Diana have been up to since Hitman 3, and provide some new locations and targets. It could be a chance to expand on Hitman 3's already expansive arsenal of tactical weapons and gear.
Here's some ideas I had regarding that:
G36 assault rifle
I know they can't use the real name because of license, like how they call the AK the Saskia or something. Still, it's a cool weapon I'd love to see translated into the game.
Scoped Dart Rifle.
They'd have to do something to keep this from being an easy mode like the electrocution phone. I loved that thing, but even I have to admit it made some parts of the game stupidly easily. Still, if it was just something like emetic darts, not lethal, it'd probably be kinda cool.
Dual Silverballers.
Not sure how this would work with Hitman's aiming system, which is probably why IOI hasn't brought them back, since they'd be impossible to shoot with any sort of accuracy and probably look kinda silly. Still, they have a lot of silly weapons for Hitman players who like that kinda thing. I mean, how many people really use a loadout slot for the fish for a serious silent assassin playthrough? Might be fun, even if it looks silly.
ICA Shock Tripmine
You know the tripmine in Hitman? It's a cool set and forget weapon, but it's really loud. What if they had a shock version so it wouldn't cause a massive explosion and freak out every guard in the level, and if anyone found the body, it'd be considered an accident?
Homing Coin
So you know how if you through a coin wrong, it can distract the wrong person if you're looking to isolate a specific one in a group? What if you had a coin that would do some weird, wavelength, sciencey stuff, that would only attract the one person you wanted it to? Sounds kinda stupid, and maybe it is, but I figured I'd bring it up.
Smoke grenade
Do I really need to explain how useful this would be?
Protected Briefcase
You know how guards will frisk you and check your briefcase, so you can't just walk through a checkpoint with a sniper rifle. What if, at least on some maps, they frisked your body and maybe put your briefcase through a metal detector? If you had a specific briefcase with some sort of scrambling mechanism, you could take in a lethal item that would ordinarily be detected in through the briefcase, Obviously this shouldn't be something you unlock right away, but maybe through beating a really tough escalation or challenge.
The Tie
Ever thought 47's tie would make a good strangling weapon?
Cinderblock Melee Weapon
Because the brick just wasn't lethal enough.
Nail Gun
This would be awesome for an endless number of reasons. Silent too.
This is just the ideas off the top of my head. If anyone else has ideas for future Hitman games or thoughts on my ideas, please comment below. I'd love to hear what you guys think.
