I'll say it.
Sometimes I get tired of playing as 47.
From what I can tell (after abandoning the Hitman series after my disgust with Absolution, and learning what little I have about HITMAN™, without playing it) the series is now set to just keep telling the story of the SAME CHARACTERS continually, AND/OR continue telling the SAME STORY, over and over again, with differing degrees of variation.
I'm actually tired of playing as Mr. 47, to be honest. I don't hate the character. I guess it's just character fatigue (not series fatigue).
Now, when I play, I completely ignore that the "sprite" I'm playing as is Mr. 47. In my mind I'm a character of my own creation. (Well, not really. I mainly pretend to be Mark Parchezzi III, along with how I image HE would operate, along with my own self-imposed objectives and restrictions).
But, I digress.
The series is possibly headed in the direction of Dynasty Warriors, telling the same story, with the same characters, over and over again, with varying details. This is all fine and well, if the gameplay continues to innovate and entertain.
Or the series could do all that AND go the direction of Devil May Cry, and actually retire (or sideline 47) and introduce and focus on a new character.
