Akane Akenawa (also known as "The Surgeon") is an Elusive Target in HITMAN™. She appeared in the mission Situs Inversus as a target alongside Pavel Frydel.

Background

Akane Akenawa is a focused and meticulous surgeon with a private clinic in Tokyo in addition to her position at the Gama Facility in Hokkaido.

Brilliant, and entrepreneurial, she was also involved in the tragic events that lead to the unlawful death of a patient following an infected liver transplant. She maintains that she wasn't involved in the acquisition of the organ, and protests her innocence. However, her private clinic in Tokyo is listed as the broker for the acquisition of the organ, and a large payment was made from her accounts to Swiss accounts controlled by Doctor Pavel Frydel.

Personality

Though brilliant and entrepreneurial, Akane Akenawa is immoral and somewhat hypocritical, and has consistently refused to admit her surgical failure, just like Pavel Frydel did. Akane attempts to throw Pavel under the bus to convince a patient to go to her own private clinic.

Unlike Pavel, whose starting location is randomized throughout the game, Akane's route is always constant and stays within the surgeon's room and the first floor corridors of the operating theater building. In a phone call, she also mentions once about that landing an operation for a "filthy" North Korean patient. It is possible she is probably referring to Ji-Hu, another Elusive Target who appears in Situs Inversus who is heavily implied to be a North Korean agent.

• Akane wears a generic female NPC surgeon outfit, with the exception of not wearing a surgical hair cap and a unique NPC face.
• The water she drinks inside the operating theater can be poisoned.
