The Carlisle Group, also referred to as Carlisle Holdings or the Carlisle Shipping Company, is an international conglomerate and one of the key business empires behind Providence, most recently represented by Partner Alexa Christine Carlisle, late matriarch of the Carlisle Family.

Formed in the aftermath of the Second Opium War of the 1850s, the Carlisle Group subsequently established a global business empire in shipping, railroads, and newspaper publishing. With strong ties to the Crown, the company was able to secure lucrative contracts throughout the yet powerful British empire, and by the 20th century, were investing heavily in transportation and broadcasting as well.
Following WW2 in 1945, Thomas Carlisle pooled his vast resources together with those of Eckhart Stuyvesant and Douglas Ingram to create Providence, with the Carlisle Group as one of the secret primary elements of its corporate superstructure.
By the 21st century, the group remained largely out of the public eye while managing a diverse portfolio of shipping and logistics companies, airlines, newspapers and cable networks such as GNN. They additionally invested in more high-tech developments such as biotech, robotics, online retail, and consumer tech.
