- "The stage of operation is the exclusive 5-star Carrington Hotel in downtown Chicago."
- ―International Contract Agency description of the hotel.
The Carrington Hotel (also mentioned as the "Skyscraper" by IO-Interactive developers, and the "rooftop penthouse" in the Hope News Times promotional poster) serves as the primary location in Hitman: Sniper Challenge with it being mentioned in Hitman: Absolution and having a cameo appearance in HITMAN™.
Background[]
The hotel is a reputable hotel in the city of Chicago, sporting numerous furnishings in its interior with decorative statues and monuments on the roof.
Events of Sniper Challenge[]
In 2012, CEO of Stallion Armaments, Richard Strong, Jr. is hosting a party on the rooftop of the hotel. Here Agent 47 is tasked with terminating Mr. Strong and his 14 WolfGuard bodyguards. After doing so he quickly leaves the scene, with numerous news agencies covering it. The aftermath caused Blake Dexter of Dexter Industries to purchase 34% of the company with Clark Wayne running the company.
Characters[]
Aside from Richard Strong appearing as the main target (with his 14 other bodyguards) various other characters in Absolution/Previous games make an appearance on the rooftop as well. This includes:
- Timothy Hawke - Sitting by himself near a window.
- Robert S. Dukes - Having a conversation with the CEO and enjoying himself on the rooftop.
- Mystery Man - He can be seen (when all challenges have been completed) in a dark room through a window. If 47 shoots the window, the Mystery Man quickly looks up through the window, makes a phone call while observing 47 and leaves.
- Sierra Selvaggia - After 47 removes the stripper evidence, Sierra will start dancing erotically in front of a window.
- Kristin J. Horton - Serving food to visitors on the dance floor.
- Jolene W. Greene - Also serving food to visitors on the dance floor.

Developer Interview[]
- "It was not meant to be apart of Hitman: Absolution. It was not meant to be anything but fun for the company."
- ―Dennis Brus-Hansen

The Early Alpha screenshot of the Carrington Hotel during development.
The Carrington Hotel was never originally planned to be apart of Absolution. In an early build of Sniper Challenge, the building used grey metal textures with it being developed in late 2011. Eventually and over-time the location was updated and became the primary location for Sniper Challenge.
General Information[]
In early drafts of Absolution, the team wanted 47 to be perched on a rooftop with concept art of this being shown. In other concept art shows that the Carrington Hotel's rooftop originally featured various pools and bars. This was changed into being numerous other rooms and a dance floor.
Trivia[]
- The name of the hotel/penthouse isn't given aside from the intro of Sniper Challenge and on a Radio in the mission "A Personal Contract" for Absolution.
- The Carrington Hotel is seemingly the last location where the Mystery Man is seen in the series.
- When Robert S. Dukes speaks with Richard Strong, he isn't using his voice modifier as its learned that Mr. Dukes is disabled in Absolution.
- The Terminus Hotel is a competitor to the Carrington Hotel in the series.
- The hotel makes a brief cameo in HITMAN™ with it appearing on a monitor in Rocco's apartment.
