Dale Anderson is a mailman and a minor character in Another Life and A Bitter Pill in HITMAN™ 2.

About[]

Dale Anderson is the mailman around Whittleton Creek. It is later revealed in the bonus mission A Bitter Pill that he suffers from a certain condition in which Atlantide might be able to "help him."

Dale is very casual about his work, moving at a leisurely pace and frequently stopping to have conversations even when running late. He even asks people in the neighborhood to handle particularly troublesome deliveries for him, rationalizing it by claiming to make them 'postal deputies.'

Dale has a bouncy and cheerful demeanor that's recognized by many residents of the neighborhood, but is largely a façade to hide the fact that he deeply hates the area and the people in it. His actual personality surfaces when he's alone or irritated.

Schedule[]

During the events of Another Life, Dale is first seen speaking with a resident named Trevor, voicing his anxiety about needing to deliver a package for James Batty and asking if Trevor will do it for him. He takes a long time gathering his letters before beginning his rounds by delivering a newspaper to 422 Mapletree Lane and checking the mailbox. He takes a moment to look at the road work before continuing down Highland Park avenue, having a chat with Helen West after delivering her mail. He only gives the Janus property a puzzled look as he passes it without checking the mailbox, but he speaks with Larry, the guard by the side gate. He then cuts across the front yard of the Griswold property, peeking into the house and heading to the front door, but leaving upon noticing the pile of old newspapers.

Dale avoids 428 Highland Avenue entirely as he turns down Crestwood Drive, cutting through the road work area to chat with a worker. He then heads to a large rock at the corner of the construction site to urinate and bitterly complain about the town prioritizing road work over building any public facilities. He curves his path back across the street to check Schmidt's mailbox. Despite his apprehension about it, he delivers Batty's newspaper and mail without being hassled. After doing the same for the Wilson's, he makes his way into the party to have a beer and chat with Richard at the grill. If the grill isn't on at the time, he'll gossip about Frank Schmidt's death. He'll look hungrily at the fries until continuing on to Cassidy's, attempting to have small talk with Nolan and his door guard before finishing his rounds at the Lewinsky property.

With his work finished, Dale takes a short stroll through the park, during which he compliments Aiden Kelly on his technique. Finally, he goes up to the bus stop to check the schedule and is dismayed to find his bus won't be there for two hours. After making a phone call where he complains about being "stuck in this suburban hellhole" with "assholes," he angrily checks his watch and drifts asleep on the bench as he waits for his bus.

A Bitter Pill[]

Dale Anderson is one of Galen Vholes's special patients who will stop by for an appointment at his house. Once Dale is inside, Galen will proceed to lie about the great effects of Atlantide and how it can solve his problems.

Disguise[]

His unique outfit can be worn; it grants access to the backyard and ground floor of the West Property. In A Bitter Pill, it grants access to the Vhole's property except the basement.

Trivia[]

  • At the start of Another Life, Dale carries four Newspapers and a Package, which he distributes throughout the level as the mission goes on.
    • Even after dropping his deliveries when pacified, Dale will still make his rounds normally when he recovers.
    • If Dale is pacified before delivering the package, Agent 47 can still talk to him about making the delivery and he'll respond normally. However, since he no longer has the package on him to offer, 47 can't actually accept the errand; Dale will simply stand in place and be confused when 47 leaves the area.
  • If Agent 47 doesn't encounter Dale before he starts his rounds - thus missing his conversation with Trevor about wanting someone to deliver Batty's package - he'll receive a call from his wife about his lateness, during which he'll discuss the same.
  • Dale Anderson is the featured NPC to be showcased in the Breadcrumb Trail mission story.
  • The mission story will fail if Dale delivers Batty's package.
  • He has a condition which appears to alter his walking style.

The Batty Tranquility[]

Although he's not a target, he appears in The Batty Tranquility escalation, where he is to be pacified in order to obtain his disguise and complete the rest of the objectives.
