The Datacore is a tool in HITMAN™ 2. Its acquisition is one of two ways to complete an objective in Golden Handshake.
It is not to be confused with the Data Core, an unrelated structure that features in the HITMAN™ 3 mission End of an Era.

Location and Use[]
The Datacore must be acquired to help 47's allies track down the Partners. It is located inside the vault of the bank, directly opposite the colossal vault doors, currently inserted into a server rack. Reaching it without raising an alarm requires disarming the vault's motion sensors.
As the description states, the Datacore is a visibly illegal item and will cause immediate aggression if 47 is caught carrying it as all NPCs on the map become enforcers when it is in hand. No disguise allows the player to carry it openly, not even the High Security uniform.
The drive is a large heavy object and, like a briefcase, incorporates a handle for convenient carry. It can also be concealed inside an actual briefcase, which is the best way to smuggle it out. Incidentally, it is sturdy enough to be used as a blunt weapon if necessary.
Trivia[]
- The hardware is manufactured by the company Siren, which also manufactured the hard drives carried by Mateo Pérez and Fabian Mann in the same level.
- This item is needed for the challenges:
- The Datacore cannot be acquired in Freelancer mode. However, it can be pulled partially out of the server rack, which will reward the player with some Mercers (the in-game currency).
