Dawood Rangan (also known as "The Showman") is a target that appears in the Chasing a Ghost mission in HITMAN™ 2.
Background[]
Description[]
Dawood Rangan was a member of Wazir Kale's gang, The Crows. When the gang was destroyed by the Mumbai Mafia, he would go on to join Kale in his career as a dreaded pirate. After their crew was massacred in a highjacking gone wrong, Dawood returned to Mumbai and established himself as a Bollywood producer and powerful crime lord. He also had a rivalry with fellow gang member, Vanya Shah.
After aiding The Maelstrom in assassinating a Providence CEO in Shanghai, Agent 47 was sent to Mumbai to eliminate Dawood, along with Vanya and The Maelstrom. In the game, he was observed as a busy man, as he is rushing in wrapping up his new film "Mumbai Hero" in his unfinished tower, surrounded by the film crew and various armed bodyguards. 47 would successfully eliminate Dawood and his other two allies, putting an end to their hold on the city.
Personality[]
Dawood Rangan is narcissistic and easily enraged, constantly sabotaging film shoots so the crew can stroke his ego, or threatening to murder people for petty things like refusing to kiss him or being more famous than him. He is also extremely cheap, trying to pay an artist in exposure even though he is a multimillionaire. Rangan is a haughty, vain and cruel individual. He casually orders the murder of a person who has displeased him over the phone and will personally kill the prisoner being held in his building if the player does not intervene. He has hired a famous painter to create oversized, garish portraits of himself, which he uses to decorate his office. His numerous personal bodyguards are accomplices in his murders and other crimes.
Dawood's ego is so tremendous that even the smallest criticism of him causes him to fly off the handle. His ego is also shown by his mansion being covered in self-portraits. He is also cruel, taunting one of his guards for losing money on a game that Dawood rigged. He has also hired a Bollywood director and actress for a film starring himself.
Dawood spends most of his time inside Rangan Tower, a sprawling private luxury residence of his which is currently under construction.
