The Partners were the secretive supreme leaders of Providence who are considered to be the most influential people in the world. They are the secondary antagonists of the World of Assassination trilogy.

They are mentioned characters in HITMAN™, the overarching antagonists of HITMAN™ 2, and three of the four secondary antagonists of HITMAN™ III, where they serve as targets, and their former second Constant took over as leader.

Overview[]

The Stuyvesants. The Ingrams. The Carlisles. These once famous and prominent families who grew wealthy during the cutthroat era of 19th century capitalism have long since retreated from public view. But secretly, they still maintain a quiet stranglehold on global banking and finance, transport and logistics, energy and technology, consumer goods, media, and entertainment.

The founding Partners have long since retired and have been replaced by their heirs: the diligent Marcus Stuyvesant, brash Carl Ingram, and cunning Alexa Carlisle.

They are the shadowy rulers of Providence, and hence the three most powerful individuals in the world. However, to ensure their safety and anonymity, the Partners' identities are known to only one main in the organization: The Constant.

History[]

The Partners formerly consisted of Marcus Stuyvesant, Carl Ingram, and Alexa Christine Carlisle who acted as both leaders and representatives for their eponymous dynasties. The first iteration of the group formed in 1945 was known to consist of Eckhart Stuyvesant, Douglas Ingram, and Thomas Alexander Carlisle.

According to Arthur Edwards, their former Constant, these three families--the Stuyvesants, the Ingrams, and the Carlisles --secretly pooled their resources over generations, which allowed them to effectively control the workings of the world. Indeed, Diana Burnwood refers to the Partners as "kingmakers."

The Partners' identities, and their very existence, are largely kept secret--even from high-ranking members of Providence. They communicate with their operatives via couriers known as "Heralds," as supervised by a Constant. In keeping with their anonymity, the Partners conferred with their Constant via virtual reality, broadcasting their digital signals to a suspended conference facility in an unknown mountainous region as of 2020.

Later that year, all three Partners were assassinated by Agent 47--Stuyvesant and Ingram in Dubai, and Carlisle in Dartmoor.

Trivia[]

  • Despite the partners being the secondary antagonists of the World of Assassination trilogy, they make very few appearances throughout the trilogy.
  • As revealed by Lucas Grey, the previous iteration of the Partners (comprised by the trio of Eckhart Stuyvesant, Douglas Ingram, and Thomas Alexander Carlisle) were Otto Wolfgang Ort-Meyer's superiors, and thus, the true masterminds behind his cloning projects as well as the origins of Agent 47.
    • However, despite the current Partners iteration's shared role in Agent 47's origins, Alexa Carlisle is the closest to being the sole instigator of the series' events as a whole, because she directly demanded Ort-Meyer to turn his clones (including 47) into professional killers and, above all, ordering to have their memories wiped, which is directly responsible for the entire story and assassin career of 47 taking place.
      • Alexa's father, Thomas Carlisle, is also just as guilty for gathering the three founding families to form Providence.
