Applications[]
Melee. Fish are able to be used in melee attacks for a quick pacification when attacking a target from behind. Attacks from the front take longer and lock the player in an animation that could allow a guard to fire at 47.
Poison. Fish are one of several food items that can be served on an empty plate. When placed, the fish becomes sushi with which 47 can interact normally by using any poison vial. In the Freelancer Safehouse, 47 can cut a fish in the kitchen if a knife is also in his inventory. Doing so yields an extra Sedative Poison Vial with zero weight.
Variants[]
- The Fish has one variant that is identical in every way except for the color. (pictured below)
Trivia[]
- Fish are one of several objects which can be produced by using the fishing pole at the end of the dock in the Freelancer safehouse. The full animation takes around 45 seconds, and obtaining a fish is not guaranteed.
- Although there are rumors to the contrary, fish are not entirely silent when used as melee objects and cannot be used to make targets slip.
- Fish found on Haven Island and Mendoza are a different color than other fish.
- The fish appears to be modeled after the Takifugu rubripes, or the Japanese pufferfish.
- During the mission The Ark Society, if you are carrying a fish while laying down in the casket as Janus, the 2nd person to approach the casket will have an extra line of dialogue questioning why you smell like fish. This accomplishes the challenge "Fin."
