Icon-Elusive Target

Gary Busey (also known as "The Wildcard") was an Elusive Target that appeared in the mission World of Tomorrow in Hitman™. He is a real life Hollywood actor known for his impulsive and outlandish behavior.

Busey is in Italy filming a commercial for a male hygiene product, but has had a falling out with co-star Gary Cole and fled the set - Engaging in meddlesome behavior that has cost the financier millions. Agent 47 is tasked with eliminating him without harming Cole to protect the studio's investments.

Appropriately, Busey voiced himself for the target.

During the launch of HITMAN™ III, IOI, despite popular demand, denied that Gary Busey returning as an Elusive Target in HITMAN™ III due to contractual issues regarding his likeness.

Trivia[]

  • Busey voiced himself, along with Gary Cole for HITMAN™.
  • Busey was in a community chosen event, where the community had to choose either one of the two Garys between Gary Busey and Gary Cole as the elusive target.[1]
  • Busey claimed to be the "Invincible Robot Man".[2] The "invincible" part of this claim is debunked by 47’s assassination of him.
  • In a phone call while he is in the main square in Sapienza, he calls a girl named Steffanie, and it really turns out that his current partner in real life is also named Steffanie Sampson.
  • When roaming around, he is accompanied by two Sapienzese bodyguards and some undercover bodyguards dressed as civilians.
  • Gary Cole is also treated like a VIP even though he is not an actual target. He will be target-lockdowned with his bodyguards in case a threat happens.
  • He is the first target in the series to be completely based on a real person, alongside with Gary Cole as well.
  • He is only elusive target to be not reactivated. This is due to copyright reasons because of Square Enix not being able to renew its contract, when the GOTY and Definitive Editions were released the next year.
  • He is considered as the "Legitimate" Elusive target because he is permanently gone after his one and only mission run.
