"Sorry, sir. The store is closed. Perhaps for good. You're gonna have to take your shopping elsewhere."
Lucy Hough to 47

The Green Mountain Convenience Store is a retail business that appears in Hitman: Absolution. It appears during the mission "Shaving Lenny".

Overview[]

During the events of Shaving Lenny, Tyler Colvin and the rest of the Cougars have a plan to kidnap and sell Victoria without the acknowledgement of Lenny. It is also learned the little convenience store is going bankrupt due to the entire town also going bankrupt. The store is ran by Lucy Hough, Tylers girlfriend. If 47 enters the store Lucy will tell him the store is closed and that he needs to go to another store. Eventually Tyler will spark a conversation about taking Lucy to California however Lucy will tell him that she doesn't want the store to go. Upstairs in the store is a whiteboard, multiple Remote Explosives, a bunch of portraits/posters and a M590 12GA shotgun.

Operation: Green Mountain white board plans.

The whiteboard is named "Operation: Green Mountain" in which consists of Tyler and the Cougars grand plan of kidnapping and selling Victoria. Later in the mission"Operation: Sledgehammer" it is learned the entirety of Hope burns to the ground. It is implied the store succumbed to the flames.

Behind the Scenes[]

In the E3 2012 gameplay demo of Shaving Lenny many things about the convenience store were scrapped or reworked. Here is a complete list:

  • The side door of the shop was always open rather than being an interactable door. There was also a moped and bicycle near the side entrance of the store.
  • The Hope officer guarding the front door of the store didn't originally exist.
  • The Operation: Green Mountain whiteboard originally had instinct glow. Implying 47 would gain evidence off the board.
  • The couch upstairs didn't exist.
  • There were originally posters for "GT Oil" upstairs. There were replaced by RexGas posters in the final game.
  • The M590 12GA shotgun originally was positioned on the ground instead of on the chair.
  • When Lucy calls her friend Pam in excitement she originally had the scripted call behind the register. This was moved over down the isle.

Trivia[]

  • Despite Lucy saying the store is closed, a male NPC will walk in and look at some of the product.
  • If the player uses the radio upstairs anyone near the store will hear it and check upstairs. This was a prominent strategy in the Contracts Mode.
  • As far as we are aware there is no concept art available of the store.
