"Mark my words kid, you should get out of soldiering. Go build a bridge or save some sea turtles. This travel agency only has two destinations; death and depression. And either way, you can be damn sure it's gonna rain the whole time, no one speaks your language and the hotel is a rock-infested hell hole."
Hank to Manuel Francis

Hank is a unique minor character in Hitman: Absolution. He appears in the mission "A Personal Contract" during the first segment "Gardens".

Information[]

When Agent 47 sneaks into Diana Burnwood's mansion to assassinate her, while infiltrating the outdoor garden area of the mansion, travel agency guard Manuel Francis and another guard are seen standing near a tall metallic statue. The guard tells[1] Francis to check up on Hank due to him having a brain injury. As Francis walks over to Hank, the guard talks to another guard nearby about how he served 25 years in the US Army and then was shot in the head, The guard tells the other guard to stay quiet as Diana isn't to know about his head injury although she has spoken to him about it. The guard then goes to speak to another in the tennis court and warns them about his wife having a panic attack considering he might have PTSD.

When Francis comes to check up on Hank the two have a discussion on why it is a good idea to leave soldiering as it's dangerous and can make any man depressed. Francis, confused asks if he will remain alright with him telling Francis to go back to his positions and thanks him for checking up on him.

Behind the Scenes[]

When the mission "A Personal Contract" was dropped from the Contracts Mode, many minor characters' names remained hidden. Except for Manuel Francis, who got his own custom name for the tutorial of the mode. Hank's however remained unknown. In the game files, it is learned that IO-Interactive were going to change his name entirely which would've served as a retcon. His unused Contracts name was originally going to be "Celestino Gervasio". It is safe to say that his Contracts name is no longer "canon" compared to his actual name.

Trivia[]

  • Hank wields a JAGD P22G however it cannot be obtained, alongside his disguise not being able to be obtained.
  • Hank is one of the only characters in Hitman: Absolution that was previously in the US Army/Marines. With the only other know character being Benjamin Travis.
  • It is mentioned by other exterior mansion guards that Diana spoke with Hank on seeking medical help while also not being aware of his brain injury he received while serving.
