Hitman insignia V

The Hitman insignia is a recurring symbol that appears in the Hitman series.

Background

The "Hitman Insignia" is an elusive symbol that has appeared multiple times throughout the Hitman series. The symbol's history and origins remain unknown, but the symbol is universally known as a heavily modified "Fleur de Lys"[1], and is usually associated with Dr. Ort-Meyer's and Agent 47's belongings.

Appearance

Hitman: Codename 47

The insignia first appeared ever in the loading screen of the mission Training, in Hitman: Codename 47. It then disappeared, only to reappear on the gates of Dr. Ort-Meyer's Asylum (which is also seen in Hitman 2: Silent Assassin), which then can be seen throughout his laboratory, and is formed by his pool of blood when finally killed by Agent 47 at the end of the game.[2]

Hitman: Contracts

The insignia also appears in Hitman: Contracts on the floor of the cloning lab, this time as though it is the actual floor design. The insignia is also on Ort-Meyer's belt buckle.[3]

Hitman: Blood Money

In Hitman: Blood Money, it appears on multiple books throughout the levels, as an Easter egg, on some of Agent 47's weapons (like his Silverballer), and belongings like his WA2000 suitcase.

Miscellaneous Appearances

In-game, it is engraved in many weapons and equipment that Agent 47 has, which includes items like his laptop. After Hitman: Contracts, the symbol is on the slides as well. It is also found on 47's equipment, such as his cell phone. In the 2007 film, Agent 47 wears a pair of silver cufflinks with his insignia enameled in red. Additionally, the PC version of Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money featured it as the application icon. In Hitman: Absolution, Agent 47 wears a tie pin with the insignia on it.
