- "A small country church on the outskirts of Hope."
- ―Official description of the church made by Agent 47.
The Hope Creek Church is a locationthat appears in Hitman: Absolution. It appears in the mission Operation: Sledgehammer.
Description[]
The church appears during the end of the mission, a weak Clive Skurky makes his way from the Hope Police station to the church in hope of escaping Agent 47. Unfortunately for him, 47 was on his tail. Approaching the church the player can find a hearse and a normal civilian car.
When entering the church Skurky stands near the casket in clear pain. As 47 approaches Skurky, getting ever so closer the Hope Preacher runs towards Skurky to make sure he's okay. Skurky decides his final move is to take the Preacher as a hostage. Doing so both the crowd and 47 panic. With the power of Point Shooting he swiftly takes out Skurky and gets the information on where Victoria is located. After Skurky dies, 47 walks out the church.
As 47 leaves the church, he walks out down the street as behind him the town of Hope is burning to the ground with the church being one of the only structures not on fire.
Trivia[]
- Despite 47 walking away from the hearse while the town burns a few scenes later 47 uses it to go to Tommy Clemenza's shop.
- The church can be seen in the Hitman 5: Concept Trailer as clear gunshot muzzles are seen through the windows.
- Originally more levels in Operation: Sledgehammer were going to be featured in the Contracts Mode, the Church was one of them. In the files of Absolution the icons for the elderly women and the Preacher inside the church can be found. Implying it was cut a few weeks before the Contracts Mode released.
- It seems the church seen in Whittleton Creek during HITMAN™ 2 is somewhat based off or is an inspiration to the Hope Creek Church in terms of layout & design.
