Trivia[]
- The Imperial Filigree Egg is a parody of the famous Fabergé eggs, elaborate works of jewelry created by the House of Fabergé of Russia during the 19th century. The most famous of these, the "Imperial eggs", were gifts for the Tsars. "Filigree" describes any kind of intricate metalwork; possibly the word was used as a substitute to avoid trademark issues.
- The in-game description of this item mentions that there are 43 surviving eggs. A total of 16 of these eggs are found scattered throughout the second and third season's main missions.
- This is 9 short of the surviving amount of imperial Fabergé of which 52 total were made as Easter gifts for the wives and mothers of Tsars Alexander III and Nicholas II.
- Though it is not an illegal object, picking up the egg often constitutes a prohibited act, even in a security disguise. Presumably its obvious rarity and value make obtaining one seem unusual enough to arouse suspicion. Some disguises, such as the Ark Society's Custodian, do allow the player to obtain the egg openly, since handling such treasures is the Custodian's function.
