- "It always starts with a body. Blue seed pharma has a facility outside of surrey. It leaked like a sieve, poisoned the water, people got sick--aggressive cancer. Including James Burnwood."
- ――6 and 47, Agent 47: Birth of the Hitman
James Oliver Burnwood is a minor character that appears in Agent 47: Birth of the Hitman and as a small cameo in HITMAN III
Personality[]

Before having cancer, James was a very kind and curious young boy. He and his sister, Diana Burnwood always got along and seemed to have a bright future.
Description[]
In issue #1 of the comic it's stated in the first couple pages that James has cancer and dies in the year 1989. During all this Agent 47 and Subject 6 discusses about the hit on the Burnwood parents. During the discussion we are shown they plan on rigging the family car with a bomb and after the funeral concludes the parents (inside the vehicle) die in the explosion with Diana Burnwood being flung into James' tombstone, completely destroying it.
Trivia[]
- James Oliver Burnwood originally appeared in Diana Burnwood's ICA trailer file for Hitman: Absolution. Stating he was instead born in 1973 and his location was completely unknown. This was of course retconned.
- The first issue has a printing error on one of the first pages where James Burnwood's in hospital, with the date being shown to be in 1985. This was clearly meant to say "1989". This was fixed in the reprint Volume 1 compilation.
