Most of Kiya's family served in the military, or the police services, so it was no surprise when he chose to follow in their footsteps. He quickly rose through the ranks of New Delhi police force and soon promoted to Anti-Terrorism Squad. Kiya deployed on more than twenty-high profile missions with the ATS, preventing several major terrorist attacks within his homeland. While investigating a counterfeit currency operation, something went terribly wrong, and Kiya's squad was ambushed. He was the only survivor, and then only after lengthy convalescence. Once he was released from the hospital, he was forcibly retired from ATS. Undeterred, Kiya set off on a one-man campaign to eliminate those responsible for the death of his squad mates.
Kiya becomes an independent assassin in order to get his revenge. His reputation within the assassins market is known for his cunning and resourcefulness as if his reputation within the ATS provided that. Thus gaining an attention to the ICA, Kiya is recruited under Initiative 426, The Shadows.
