The Laptop is an interactive mission object and user interface (UI) featured in Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Blood Money. It can be generally used to view objectives, mission requests, intelligence and sometimes for purchasing weaponry and equipment.

The Laptop is used in its appearances as a framing device (for mission briefings), and additionally as an interactive object to start missions in Silent Assassin. The Laptop also features an Equipment Select Menu, and also handles the map in Codename 47.
Hitman: Codename 47[]

Agent 47 uses the Laptop to communicate with the Agency; it is his primary means of receiving information regarding his assignments and assassination targets. The Laptop also allows 47 to purchase weapons and equipment, and provides a top-down map of the mission area, updated in real-time. The selection of available equipment varies from mission to mission, due to difficulties associated with acquiring untraceable weapons.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin[]
The Laptop makes a reappearance in Silent Assassin, with an updated interface and physical model. Its physical model appears to retain the green filter on the screen, but this does not appear when used. It also features the Insignia seen previously in Ort-Meyers Asylum. Like Codename 47, the laptop is used for mission briefings and equipment selection, but the equipment shop has been omitted. It appears mostly when first playing missions except Redemption at Gontranno, and only appears during cutscenes in The Gontranno Sanctuary. It does not appear in some missions as these are continuity missions, although it will appear on individual replays.
The Laptop also features as an interactive object in 47's shed at the Gontranno Sanctuary, where it is used to start successive missions after returning following a completed mission.
Blood Money[]
The Laptop makes an updated and modernised appearance as the pre-mission interface in Blood Money, complete with revamped user interface. It was also capable of reading small memory cards 47 would use for briefings. It also lacks any signet green filter. This version has speakers that would fold out when the laptop was opened. It should be noted that this version is considerably smaller than other laptops of the time, and appears to be built for purpose. In addition to briefings and equipment selection, the Laptop also features an equipment upgrade shop, which can be utilised with earned money.
