Marco Abiatti (also known as "The Politician") is a target in the HITMAN™ bonus mission Landslide.
Background[]
Rome is backing him up, but he still needs the Church's approval. However, he also knows that a lawyer, Salvatore Bravuomo, has his hands on information that could turn his election around for the worse.
But be careful, 47. Abiatti is a paranoid man, bordering on sociopathic. He covers his tracks well, and we are the final answer to stop this megalomaniac.Personality[]
Marco Abiatti is an arrogant, greedy and paranoid, and an almost anti-social man. He tries his best to cover his tracks well, and the currently, the ICA is the ultimate answer to stopping this megalomaniac. He has very ill-mannered impulsive tendencies such as eating any food in plain sight, urinating on graves and touching strangers in a very uncomfortable matter. These behaviors give 47 a solid advantage in eliminating him.
During his campaigning in Sapienza, he is very fond to meet Salvatore Bravuomo and will talk to him about his sneaky plans whenever he wins as the mayor of Sapienza. This explains how he is able to see through 47 when he is disguised as the lawyer, as he is familiar with the real Salvatore Bravuomo. 47 can blend in certain areas inside the office, in order to not get spotted by him. If 47 arranges a meeting with Marco and the actual Salvatore Bravuomo, the latter will still be frisked, despite entering into his own office, as Marco Abiatti is very careful and fond of security.
He also has arranged a meeting with Alfredo Giovanatti, an Italian Union Leader, to eventually meet him at the Church graveyard in around two hours. If 47 interferes his schedule, and calls him through the town's PA system, Marco Abiatti will be proceeding towards the back of the church. Meeting him there will make the entire graveyard a trespassing zone. He will also be urinating in one of the graveyards, which he can be potentially killed if the wire plug is exposed.
After the band Cinque Cillegie performs on the beach square, a stage crew will be giving recognition to Marco's presence, and will eventually give his campaign speech. Marco will also be getting furious to one of the stage crew, showing his insincerity and how he does things just all for the show. If the stage manager's microphone has been sabotaged, his true colors will be revealed, and his crowd will be throwing boos and negative comments back at him.
It was also revealed that Marco Abiatti was the bully of Silvio Caruso back in the day, and a threat to Father Francesco, the former who ordered revenge against him, and the latter who was afraid and tried to hide when he returned to town. If both Father Francesco and Marco cross paths, the former will push him off the roof of the church after Francesco threatens action against him. When disguised as the priest, 47 gets a window of opportunity to push him into the church's spire, as he explains his perfunctory plans in making Sapienza a better city.
For the grand finale of Marco Abiatti's campaigning, he is fond of fireworks and it has not yet been fixed. 47 can sabotage the fireworks display and acquire the remote, to potentially kill him during the fireworks' explosion.

Trivia[]
- Marco Abiatti's death is mentioned by Francesca De Santis, Oscar Lafayette and several other NPCs in World of Tomorrow.
- While searching his office, De Santis discovers that Silvio has placed the contract against Marco for bullying him when they were in school and mentions that the hit was considered a political assassination by the public.
- Silvio will also exclaim "This is just like Abiatti throwing me down the well!" if shot.
- In the briefing for Landslide, Diana Burnwood describes him as a wealthy businessman and a "right-wing populist" which has been growing in Europe as of late. More directly, he may be a parody of the former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Marco's resemblance to the said prime minister is strengthened by his ties into the mafia.
- If Marco dies in the Church Spire, his body will not be found, even if he can be visibly seen.
- According to a conversation between two women in the town plaza, Marco has been accused of sexually harassing a female classmate while they were in high school. The fact that he was an orphan and that he was “taken in” by the people of Sapienza, might be a hint on how he got involved with the mafia.
- He has a glass of wine on the beach square that can be poisoned.
- He also shares the same target name with Barbara Keating, as both of them are being called "The Politician".
Target Lockdown[]
During a Target Lockdown, Marco will be randomly proceeding either inside the Church Morgue's entrance, the small room in the Church's bell tower, in Salvatore Bravuomo's office in the Main square town hall, at the beach square's backstage, and inside the restaurant.
