Necessary Evil is the sixth cinematic in the main story of HITMAN™ III. It follows the mission The Farewell, and the cinematic is set between 30 minutes and four hours after the Farewell mission.
Summary[]
Though Agent 47 confronts Diana Burnwood about double-crossing him, she activates a poison chip she had planted on his body during their last tango, which subsequently incapacitates him against her squad of armed guards. 47, however, suspects Diana also double-crossed Arthur Edwards, but Diana saves face in front of the goons. After divulging that she found out 47 killed her parents, he apologizes. Diana insults him further, leaves him behind in an act of "kindness."
Transcript[]
Diana: "How did you know?"
Agent 47: "Your deal. That kind of power always comes with a price. What's yours?"
Diana: "I think you know."
47 takes aim as the circle grows tighter around him.
Diana (CONT'D): "I am sorry. This is a necessary evil."
Diana presses down on a remote switch, causing 47 to clench up, grasping at his neck.
Agent 47: "What have you done?"
47 drops the gun and falls to his knees.
Diana: "Ether brand neurotoxin. Transfers by touch. See, Edwards learns by his mistakes, 47; and, as you've clearly demonstrated, brute force is futile. It had to be me. It was the only way."
Agent 47: "...to get this close."
Diana: "My family. I know what you did. After all these years, I finally know."
Diana kicks the struggling agent over on his side.
Agent 47: "I am sorry."
Diana: "You didn't have a choice. I did. Providence used you, but...I'm no better. All I saw was a blank slate. A weapon to wield. I told myself it was what you needed. But people aren't meant to be controlled."
Diana leans in, face-to-face with 47.
Diana (CONT'D): "This is a kindness. Goodbye...agent."
Diana strolls away, leaving 47 indisposed. Fade out.Trivia[]
- Despite the ICA19 Silverballer being his signature weapon, 47 uses the ICA19 Chrome in this cinematic.
- The only difference in this ICA19 Chrome is the suppressor being uncoloured.
