Old Friends is the ninth cinematic in the main story of HITMAN™. It follows the mission Freedom Fighters, and the cinematic is set on the same day as Freedom Fighters in January 2020.
Summary[]
Following the deaths of his closest lieutenants, Lucas Grey--the "Shadow Client"--observes Agent 47 leave his militia's compound in Colorado via a sniper scope. He reports in to his chief hacker and second-in-command, Olivia Hall, who fears for their lives after the ICA discovered their location. Though Hall, calling in from London, implores her boss to eliminate 47, Grey instead relays to her a story from he and 47's childhood past in Romania, telling her that he knows him "better than anyone."
Transcript[]
Grey: "Rose is gone."
At a bus stop in London, Olivia Hall speaks to Grey by phone.
Hall: "It was me, wasn't it? They tracked me. I don't believe it. I took every precaution."
Grey: "Rose knew the risks. They all do. You did well Olivia, I am proud of you. Now listen."
Through the scope, Grey observes 47 casually strolling out of the apricot farm.
Grey (CONT'D): "The ICA knows about you. They kept you alive because they needed you and now they don't. We won't talk again. Not until this storm is over."
Grey: "I ran away as a boy. My friend and I. Away from that--place. We came upon a small farming community. The people were dirtpoor but this woman, she took us in. We were awakened the next morning by the shots. A dozen people lay face down in the snow. Our warden--didn't like to leave witnesses. They shot the woman and her family last and made sure that we watched the whole thing. 'This is your gift,' the warden told us. 'Your gift and your curse.'"
With 47 in his crosshairs, Grey holds his finger on the trigger.
Grey (CONT'D): "'Touching lives only by ending them.'"
47 turns, sensing a presence.
Hall (COM): "You know him."
Grey releases his grasp, and 47 continues on his way. He lowers the rifle.
Grey: "Better than anyone."
Fade to black.
