The Pigeon Coop (also known as the "Rooftop Pigeon Coop") is a sub-location in Hitman: Absolution. It plays a major role in the mission "Run For Your Life".
Overview[]

The plank of wood, connecting the makeshift shed & the Pigeon Coop.
On February 9th, 2013 after Agent 47 escapes the Chicago Police Department inside the Harold Washington Library, he is chased by a Police Pegasus N26LM chopper from an exterior portion of the library inside a homemade pigeon coop full of caged pigeons. The interior of the coop is dirty, worn and rancid. With an upstairs portion and small room inside the coop.
As the chopper flies near, the helicopter blades causes the cages to fall over and the entire building to violently shake however Agent 47 can either jump across from the Pigeon Coop to a makeshift metallic shed or successfully sneak past the chopper walking across a wooden plank. After words, the red steel doors are closed off by the shed.
Behind the Scenes[]
In promotional material (Cosmo Faulkner's #2 police report) that the wooden plank that helped cross between the makeshift shed & pigeon coop fell on top of a woman named 'Cheryl Thompson' as she 'observed from some 40 stories below' which knocked her into a coma with her being rushed to the Northwestern Memorial Hospital for immediate care. In the final game, the wood just falls with the player moving on. It is assumed this minor storyline was retconned and is no longer canon[1].
The Pigeon Coop was designed and conceptualized by Jonas Springborg[2] and originally the alternate door was just a single door compared to being double red steel doors.
Trivia[]
- Without use of a trainer, both the coops rooftop shed unseen interior and the hidden room cannot be accessed. Interestingly, the rooftop shed of the pigeon coop has an active light inside of it with old/worn newspapers on its old windows but there aren't any stairs or doors that allow others to access it.
- The pigeon coop also has two exposed holes near their windows, which adds more layers that the building is dilapidated.
- Its theorized that Birdie owns the coop, due to his obsession with Pigeons and how he converted a former school bus into his own makeshift house.
- The building is very unique, as if the player uses a free-camera modification, they'll find there is no building under the coop.
