Re Thak (also known as Captain Re Thak and Spider Lily) was a captain in the Heavenly Guard and a target in the mission The Pen and the Sword in HITMAN™ 2.

Background

A beautiful woman who got "rescued" by The Blade and groomed into a world-class spy by the very best of the Heavenly Guard, Spider Lily has worked in counter-intelligence for the past 6 years, spreading the good works of Sun Po's benevolent regime and methods to rebel groups and splinter factions all over the world.

Re Thak grew up in a very typical working class family serving the Heavenly Leader in the capital city of Khandanyang. Dedicated to the amazing spirit of Sun Po, Re Thak and her family served without question and with a great sense of pride but the Chinese ancestry of Re Thak's grandparents proved to be a problem for her family's neighbours. Small day verbal stabs eventually became physical and one day the Heavenly Guard descended upon the family - someone had reported them as possible spies and the entire clan was dragged away.

Despite their innocence, Re Thak's parents were incarcerated and interrogated for months, eventually admitting to the charges that had been falsified. Re was likely going to suffer the fate of her parents if it hadn't been for the chance recounter of a then-captain known as "The Blade". Jin Noo saw something rebellious in the young girl, something useful to his band of special forces people and so he was given the chance to reeducate the girl. It worked better than he had anticipated and eventually, Spider Lily was born from the ashes of Re Thak's reeducation.

Spider Lily is young, fueled by the cause and extremely persuasive, being gifted with a rare understanding of the nature of rebellion. She received little formal combat training and while she appears to be a master of martial arts, her abilities are quite limited and focus on flourishes and theatrical moves that she uses to impress people with.

She's the one who managed to secure the intel of Han Ldong's location in the US and has, alongside The Blade, been the chief orchestrator of the rescue mission.

• Re Thak's codename likely comes from the spider lily, a poisonous plant that originally comes from China, Korea, and Nepal.
• She will be annoyed if the Heavenly Guard satellite dish gets sabotaged.
• If Lhom Kwai is killed before her, she will escort both of the hostages to the shipping container on the boat.
• After sealing the hostages inside the container van, it is possible for all three of them to meet at Dock 11, where there is a chance to kill them with a suspended container.
  • This can be done by making them meet by shooting the ship's foghorn at least three times.
