Richard Ekwensi (also known as "The Ex-Dictator") is an Elusive Target in the HITMAN™ mission Club 27. Richard appeared alongside his wife Inez Ekwensi.
Briefing[]
Routes[]
Richard Ekwensi can be seen having a meeting with Jean-Pierre Delanoix of the French West African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a cover for the General Intelligence Agency.
Richard will frequently have an argument with a waiter over him and Inez having their meals delayed yet will inevitably end up ordering a different dish. One of his dialogue pieces states how he feels like he's repeating himself.
Adeze Oijofor receives a phone call from him in her mission. She was supposed to meet him at the hotel, but he was unable to meet her deadline as he is currently staying in London with Inez. Richard also alludes to this in a phone call during his mission, where he (correctly) guesses that Adeze was assassinated to lure him out, believing her death was carried out by the same assassin who killed Viktor Novikov and Dalia Margolis.
Appearance[]
Richard Ekwensi appears to be based off Mobutu Seke Seko, dictator of Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). This is strengthened by the fact Richard wears a leopard-print toque and glasses, which Mobutu was famous for wearing.

Trivia[]
- In The Showstopper, a phone conversation with Mabaya Mzabuni can be overheard wherein he says Richard will "pay" for his crimes. Given Crystal Dawn's status as a liberation group, it's likely they opposed Richard's former government.
- Richard is one of the three Elusive Targets with a "Richard" on their name, along with Richard J. Magee and Richard M. Foreman.
- In A Gilded Cage, one of Reza Zaydan's lieutenants found in the consulate parking lot states that he previously did security work for Richard.
- In The Farewell, a winery guest near the dance floor who identifies himself as a former U.S. Secretary of State discusses having aided his rise to power at the behest of Providence in order to get access to his country's valuable rhodium mines.
- Also in The Farewell, Tamara Vidal correctly guesses that Agent 47 was the one to kill Richard in Bangkok.
