Icon-Elusive Target

Robert Burk (also known as one of the "The Procurers") is a cannibal embalmer and an Elusive target in HITMAN™ III. He appeared in the mission Death in the Family.

Background[]

Mr. Burk has always been surrounded by death. Coming from along line of undertakers and embalmers: Death is simply just the end. Not to be feared and nothing to be mourned. It just happens.

A lonely child, he was always considered strange, not helped by always having a slight odor of embalming fluid Not that he was intentionally bullied by his classmates, in fact they were more scared of him and thought it best to just pretend that he didn't exist-a crueler form of psychological bullying.

There was never any doubt that Mr. Burk would join the family business once he left school, and this suited him just fine. In fact, he was a natural. One could even call him an artist: no matter the cause of death, however violent or destructive, he could make a corpse look beautiful or at least at peace.

Due to his talent, his family business soon made quite a name for itself and the cliental became more elite. However, one should not confuse this with celebrity status-no one wants an embalmer at a drinks party, it's simply too depressing... so once again, being ignored was becoming an everyday custom for Mr. Burk.

He would, however. often sit in during funerals, more out of respect for his own work than the grieving family.. Alter all, death was no stranger to Mr. Burk. It was simply just something that happened.

So it came as quite a shock, when at one funeral, he was approached by the celebrity chef, "Jakob Ro'. Larger than life and very funny, Mr. Burk was instantly taken by his charm, but he was confused by "Mr. Ro's" keen interest in his job. Soon, they became friends... So much so, that "Jakob Ro", let him in on his secret of his true identity, which didn't bother Mr. Burk. In fact, at first, he thought it rather amusing.

However, Mr. Roe soon turned to darker subjects: is it wrong to eat something that is already dead? This was something that fell right into Mr. Burks own beliefs: No, it is not. Dead is dead. And that was when Mr. Roe dropped the bomb about his plan. At first, Mr. Burk was horrified-but soon he was manipulated into believing that this was a cause that made sense-why waste? And not to mention that the money was VERY good. It didn't hurt anyone...and with his talent, the surviving family members would never know.

And before he knew it... he was in deep.

Personality[]

Robert Burk is known to hang around Zachary Carlisle's corpse in his bedroom on the manor's first level, and is shown preparing his embalming, which is surrounded by security. Ironically, despite being a professional embalmer, he is still afraid to see dead bodies because he thinks that they will rise back from the dead.

Robert shows some signs that he has a nervous temper, worrying about getting discovered in every step of the plan. As such, probably to reduce stress, he is a compulsive smoker, who will react anxiously upon finding out that he is out of cigarettes. He also shows contempt for Jack Roe's cool attitude and he does not seem fond of the Jakob Ro persona.

He prefers that he and his partner stay away during their stay in Thornbridge Manor and will show unease if Jack Roe asks them to meet. Should Jakob Ro be killed while he is still in his presence, he will be fearing for his cover rather than for his associate's loss. He also retreats back to the office and will panic about being exposed and how he can possibly be going back to prison.
