- "Now since every cop in Chicago is hot on your ass, The safest route to the Vixen Club should be through the tunnels, next to the Roxy...Good luck homes."
- ―Birdie
Roxy Salas (also known as The Roxy) is an establishment in Hitman: Absolution. It only appears in "Hunter and Hunted", specifically in the "Courtyard" level.
Description[]
- "Pumping the volume since 1963"
- ―Slogan
The Roxy is a nightclub/club that appears in "Hunter and Hunted". It is first mentioned by Birdie to 47 once the player begins the level "Courthouse". After making their way from the tunnels to the Roxy's underground entrance they enter the Vixen Club.
Behind the Scenes[]
The Roxy appears in Hitman Absolution: Full Disclosure. During an old 2010 development build of the game, the IO-Interactive team recorded a section of an early portion of the Courthouse to display the "Point Shooting" mechanic. Unlike in the retail the logo appears to be much older as it's design textures, slogan and the word "Salas" are missing from it. This supports the fact that the establishment was originally known just as "The Roxy".
If the player enters the location/level of "The Vixen Club" in the tunnels they will find some wooden planks and a chain-linked fence above them. If using a free-cam modification there is actually an couple unused/unseen rooms. This means at some point 47 was going to go inside of Roxy Salas but it was scrapped.
Trivia[]
- Despite stating it's been serving the public since 1963, it seems the establishment is out of business as Birdie is the only character to mention "The Roxy".
- If listening closely to the "Point Shooting Beta" in Full Disclosure, some nightclub music can be heard. It's unknown if this is in line with the Roxy Salas or the original games OST. Either way it was scrapped from the game and replaced with police car sirens instead.
- The Roxy originally had an unseen walkway that lead to another building down a fenced alleyway. This was removed.
- The broken window textures on the original buildings were replaced by bright lighted window textures.
- It's unknown if the Chicago PD ever searched the establishment for Amber or 47 at the time.
