Compared to standard STG 58, it has different stock and handguard, and it has a green Holographic-styled optical sight (but unusable even while aiming). The STG 58 Elite and its standard varient share the same type of ammo as well. The combat effectiveness of the STG 58 Elite is almost identical to STG 58.

Behind the Scenes[]
Originally the Elite was planned to be the primary assault rifle in Hitman: Absolution. Thanks to the cinematic E3 Rosewood trailer[2] & the October 2011 Run For Your Life playthrough demo[3] it was made very clear the rifle was planned to be used by both the Chicago police/S.W.A.T. & Wade's Mercenaries. The rifle was even featured in various promotional screenshots for the two missions. However in the final version of the game the rifle is replaced by other assault rifles however for the aforementioned missions above, the M590 12ga (Run For Your Life) & the Zug TMP (Rosewood) served as the weapons' replacement.
Trivia[]
- In the 2011 playthrough demo, the Elite was seen as a prop and not an useable weapon, despite promotional screenshots saying otherwise.
