Sergei Larin (also known as "The Forger") is an Elusive Target in the HITMAN™ mission: The Showstopper.
Briefing[]
Route[]
Larin will begin climbing at the foot of the stairs in the Entrance Hall walking past Viktor Novikov making his entrance down toward the crowd. A Cicada guard waiting at corner of the next flight will join him. He will make his way towards the Museum Owner’s Study, stopping briefly at the fireplace in the room adjacent to chat with his bodyguard. He will continue to the Study, viewing one of the dry erase boards, muttering plans and cracking jokes to the bodyguard if still present. Larin will then suggest getting a view of the party, exiting out to the balcony above the catwalk, in awe of the activities. Afterwards, he will walk to the northeast of the Palace, taking in a view of the statue in front of the staircase leading up to Level 3, before climbing those stairs to enter a room on the east side of Attic Storage, studying his paintings, proclaiming that he can’t sell them. He will then traverse the Attic stopping at certain paintings to comment on them, before leaning on a railing by the Cicada Security Control room to look down over the fashion show. Leaving the Attic, he will head back downstairs to Level 1 and cut through the Dressing Room into the Museum to make a phone call. After finishing the call, he will view a painting of Napoleon Bonaparte in the Museum before heading back through the Dressing Room, and taking the center staircase behind the Catwalk up to level 2, re-entering the room adjacent to the Museum Owner’s Study, to have a smoke out on the balcony, creating an opportunity for a Push Elimination provided no one is watching. After the smoke, he will take a drink of the red wine sitting on the dining table in front of the fireplace, also creating a Poison Opportunity. After the drink, Larin will sit on the couch to make another phone call. Hanging up, he will rise from the couch to enter the Museum Owner’s Study, fiddle with a case under a table, and view the other dry erase board, closing out his loop of this route before restarting it again by the fireplace. There is less dialogue this time around, and minor stops made in the first one such as the statue are skipped. He will also head straight for the Museum by descending the stairs in the Entrance Hall before resuming the route again.
Personality[]
Sergei Larin is a forger painter and a part-time art dealer who is passionate about the arts. He studied at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, which is a prestigious arts school. This also explains his collection of paintings he has archived, that can be found in the palace's attic.
He is an avid fan of golf, indicated by the Golf Club in his office. In the game, Howard Moxon attempts to call Sergei in his mission about the location of the Ivory White, but is unable to reach him. According to Viktor Novikov, Sergei once purchased a model diorama in St. Petersburg. He also has his own speedboat in Palais De Walewska's docks that can be used as an escape route.
It is unknown if he kept his own last name or took his wife's name during marriage due to the fact that his wife's family owned the palace and the fact he is a trophy husband.
