- The weapon's first appearance in Miami is a Spongebob Squarepants easter egg. The fish tank in which the Starfish will emerge from also holds a pineapple and a sponge.
- Incidentally, the same easter egg can be found underwater in Haven Island.
- The Starfish is one of two legal Shuriken variants, with the other being The Club Boom 12" Vinyl Sampler.
