Icon-Elusive Target

The Censor (also known as "The Serial Killer" and "Joseph Gorski") is an Elusive Target in HITMAN™ 2.

Background[]

The true identity of the assignment, a serial killer labelled The Censor, is unknown.

The nickname The Censor, stems from the only evidence left at each crime scene: a grade on how much the victims have struggled for their lives.

From Official Criminal Profile reports, it is believed that he is male, Caucasian and in his early to mid 50's. He is meticulous and methodical, with an obviously high IQ.

The reports further assesses he was raised in a dominant household, most likely by a judgement and authoritarian single parent, which presumably left a deep impact on how the suspect picks and "grades" his victims.

He has eluded the authorities for many years, but he is beginning to show signs of carelessness and a pattern has started to emerge, which has led authorities to believe that his next mark is somewhere in Whittleton Creek.

Description and Behavior[]

The Censor is found attending the party at the Wilson household, scouting for potential new victims. He asks several partygoers if they would like to participate in his newest experiment. Agent 47 has the option to speak to the Censor, where he'll reject The Censor's offer. He wanders around the garden, the living room, and the kitchen, scouting three potential victims in the process.

The Censor is relatively polite and calm, masking his sociopathic nature. He has a psychological need to test himself by grading his victims on how they struggle for their lives. In The Censor's own words, he wants to demonstrate that everyone has the potential to be a serial killer and wants people to act out such capacity. Despite his calm façade, he is prone to discrete outbursts if made angry. During one outburst, he expresses frustration that his nickname doesn't define his manner of killing and would prefer a more appropriate nickname like "The Evaluator".

Trivia[]

  • A GNN news report in Another Life mission describes The Censor's latest victim, a retired firefighter from Montpelier, who was given a B-, his highest score yet.
    • In the same report, its mentioned that Dr. Oscar Lafayette believes that The Censor has a death wish and will only stop killing once he's found a match or an A+.
  • Killing The Censor whilst remaining unnoticed will make Diana jokingly grade the elimination with an A+.
  • Despite his obsession with making people fight for their lives, if 47 points a gun at The Censor, he will cower and beg without putting up a fight.
    • He will also not fight back if 47 attacks him despite carrying a knife, behaving like a normal civilian NPC
  • The Censor drops a Scalpel when killed or subdued.
  • Unlike most Elusive targets, Diana will not introduce The Censor upon coming into close proximity with him. Searching the computer of two of Nolan Cassidy's agents in the Schmidt Residence garden or interacting with him will identify him.
  • The Censor says his name is Joseph Gorski while talking to another NPC as he introduces himself, although this is potentially an alias.
  • Along with Jimmy Chen, he is one of the two elusive targets in HITMAN™ 2 that does not participate in a Target Lockdown sequence.
