The Mexican Chapel (also known as the Crestones Chapel or simply called "The Chapel") is a location in Hitman: Absolution. It appears briefly in the intro cinematic cutscene of the mission "Death Factory".

Overview[]

In early February 2013, the Chapel is seized by The Saints to take down an unidentified target for unknown reasons. The Chapel is located in the crestones of Panama[1]. As the Saints interrogate their target they get a contract by Benjamin Travis to terminate Agent 47. This causes LaSandra Dixon to immediately kill their captured target with her Tanto Knife and inform the Saints their headed to Hope, South Dakota to terminate 47.

Behind the Scenes[]

On Adam Rishede's[2] Hitman: Absolution portfolio, Adam posted two developer screenshot variants of the Chapel. One was the cinematic exterior seen in the final game without the blur/text however the alternate appears to be a screenshot of the Chapel for an unused/scrapped cinematic. Possibly involving 47 or Birdie to visit the Chapel in search of evidence/clues. The true contents of what the unused cinematic truly was is unknown.

Trivia[]

  • The location of the Chapel is fictional as there are no real Crestones in Panama.
  • No public concept art of the Chapel exists online.
  • In the cutscene, various props of Mexican statues and photos of young women can be seen. Its unknown as to what they truly entail.
