The Torch is a melee weapon introduced in HITMAN™ 2. Attacking a target with the torch will not set them ablaze; instead, the fire goes out, and must be relit. Its intended purpose in the game is ceremonial. The Torch can light flammable materials in certain specific locations, such as the sacrificial pile of money in the Isle of Sgail.

The flames are mostly for visual effect, and merely carrying the lit torch through brush or near people's clothing will have no effect. However, the torch can ignite flammable substances such as leaking propane.

Trivia[]

  • The torches in The Farewell have much-reduced visible flame than the one in The Ark Society. Additionally, note that dropping or even setting down the torch in this mission will be considered a suspicious act for some reason; the player should find an inconspicuous place to dispose of it once it has served its purpose.
