The United States of America (USA), is a federal republic composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions. At 3.8 million square miles (9.8 million km2) and with over 325 million people, the United States is the world's third- or fourth-largest country by total area and the third-most populous country.

The USA is by far the most prominently featured location in the entire series, with Agent 47 visiting and residing in the country multiple times. The majority of Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution take place at locations within the country, with Chicago serving as the primary setting for the latter game. HITMAN™ features a level set in Colorado, with several different missions taking place here. HITMAN™ 2 also features missions set in Miami, New York and Suburban Vermont.

Despite appearing more than any other country in the series, there are no missions that are set here in the first three Hitman games.
