Summary[]
At a cemetery in Surrey, Diana Burnwood reports that the ICA contract in Santa Fortuna, Colombia was successful. She visits the graves of her family members, reminiscing about how they died: her brother, James, by a chemical leak caused by Blue Seed Pharmaceuticals; her parents, Peter and Nancy, by a car bomb when they tried to press more charges against the company.
Meanwhile, Lucas Grey infiltrates the Ether Biotech Corporation R&D facility in Johannesburg, stealing a device before strapping a C4 explosive to an employee. Grey evacuates by helicopter as the bomb goes off.
Transcript[]
Diana strolls through a verdant cemetery, dictating into her earpiece.
Diana: "Mission status: Colombia assignment successful. Tactical targets neutralized. Militia transport network disabled. Location of primary target unknown. Team chasing several leads. End message. Encrypt and send."
She approaches the grave of her brother, James, bearing flowers. A flashback to 1989 reveals a younger Diana standing at the grave with her parents, Peter and Nancy.
Peter: "I'm not as strong as you. They have to pay for what they did."
Peter: "If my source checks out, we can prove the Board knew about the chemical leaks. We'll have grounds for a retrial."
Nancy: "It won't make a difference. They're too powerful."
Peter: "They're not the devil, Nancy. Just a company. They're not above the law. Don't you see? This is bigger than James. Those bastards killed eighty people."
Nancy: "And they got away with it. Think about what that means."
Peter: "No one's untouchable."
Diana: "No one's untouchable."
As Diana places a toy plane next to the grave, her parents call out to her from their car.
Peter: "Diana!"
Diana: "Coming!"
When they rev the engines, the car explodes, throwing Diana back to the ground.
Diana: "Mom? Dad?"
The flames grow taller and send us back to present-day, where Diana sheds a tear before walking away from the three headstones.
