- "This is one of the best sniper rifles I have found, and I have had this one custom built to my standards. As a result, the handgrip and even the trigger pull are customized to my hands and style of shooting. When taking this on a mission, I always carry it disassembled in a case so I can move about without causing suspicion. The standard case will not get the rifle through a security checkpoint. However, I can purchase a foil-lined case for such needs. The upgrades available for this sniper rifle allow me to focus on accuracy, stealth, or even a fast rate of fire as the mission may require."
- ―47's personal thoughts about the rifle, as stated in the official guidebook.
The Walther WA2000 Sniper, also known as the W2000 Sniper (HITMAN™ instead features as the Sieger 300) is a sniper rifle and Agent 47's sniper rifle of choice. Although proficient with other rifles, Agent 47 usually utilizes the WA2000 as his main rifle. It, or similar rifles of appearance, has featured in all games of the series, as well as both films.
In real life, the WA2000 is a very rare rifle, of which only 176 were made. A special weapon for a distinct professional.
Hitman: Codename 47[]
In Hitman: Codename 47, the W2000 holds a 6-round magazine, and while it featured widely in promotional material and on the main menu, it only appears towards the end of the game. It can be purchased on one level and found on two. It is named the WA2000 in this game.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin[]
In Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, the W2000 can only carry one bullet at a time (although there is a short magazine shown, probably due to in-game limitations) and has a very slow reload rate. Despite that, it typically kills NPCs with a single shot. Another drawback is that the stock variant of the rifle is un-suppressed. Due to this, it can be considered one of the worst rifles in the entire game.
W2000 Custom Rifle[]
The W2000 Custom Sniper is a special sniper rifle found in Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. Not to be confused with the customisable variant in Hitman: Blood Money.
In appearance, it is the same as the W2000, except that it has a black sleek design with a wood trim, has a large scope capable of high zoom and precision, and has a laser sight under a sound suppressor. Unlike the regular W2000, the bipod is no longer present, and it has a magazine capacity of ten rounds.
Despite being equipped with a suppressor, the noise it makes can be heard at a considerable radius. But it is still a very useful rifle, probably second to the M195.
Hitman: Contracts[]
47 equips the Walther WA2000.
In Hitman: Contracts, the W2000 holds only a 6-round magazine, a strong scope, fast rate of fire, and a silencer. It mostly comes in a concealed briefcase, but it isn't protected from metal detectors.
If the player replays a level that gives the player the WA2000 in Contracts without having it equipped, it will spawn anyway. (If the player has a two handed weapon such as an Spas-12 instead selected, the rifle briefcase will still spawn on the ground near 47.)
Hitman: Blood Money[]
The W2000 can be customized with several upgrades in Hitman: Blood Money, making it, along with the Silverballers, one of the two most useful weapons in the game. The upgrades can be purchased at the start of each level; these upgrades include scopes and sound suppressors. For a full list of upgrades, see W2000 Sniper upgrades.
With these upgrades, the W2000 is without doubt the best weapon for snipers. There is no delay between shots (unless the bolt action upgrade is installed), which makes it semi-automatic. With the W2000 concealed, at the price of a disassembled rifle, it's excellent for infiltration. Even without upgrades, the W2000 is the most accurate weapon in-game. While the game has no hold breath feature, all sniper rifles in game will "shake" when zoomed in. The lightweight frame upgrade can solve this problem for the W2000, however.
HITMAN™[]
The rifle as seen in a Hitman 2 cinematic
Although initially cut from the game (and being absent from the leaked 2015/2021 prototype builds implying it was a last -inute eadition before being scrapped), the rifle makes a return in the episodic HITMAN™ as the Sieger 300. It becomes available to be smuggled into a location after completing Mastery Level 20 of the mission Situs Inversus. It comes with a suppressor and a 3x magnification scope, making it the only sniper rifle in the game to have both a variable zoom scope and a suppressor. It has numerous variants wthat arefeatured throughout the rest of the World of Assassination trilogy while also appearing in a HITMAN 2 cinematic.

- Main article(s): W2000 Sniper/Upgrades
In Hitman: Blood Money, the W2000 Sniper is one of the five customizable weapons. The upgrades range from doubling the magazine capacity, reducing the noise and enhancing the precision.
Behind the Scenes[]
The advanced variant.
According to leaked concept art, the rifle was originally going to appear in Hitman: Absolution. This is due to concept art showing 47 aiming down with the rifle looking onto the Carrington Hotel. This implies the rifle would've made an appearance in Sniper Challenge as well. Ultimately the rifle makes no appearance in either games heavily implying it didn't make it past the concept phase of development.

Trivia[]
General
- In real life, the WA2000 possesses several unique characteristics; it requires constant maintenance to retain its phenomenal accuracy, uses a bullpup design and requires much fine-tuning, and it was designed for police and law enforcement, very much like the PSG-1. Both are very expensive: the PSG-1 costs $15,000, and the WA2000 costs more, around $40,000 - $75,000 per unit. Also, only 176 were ever made before their production was halted, leading to their extreme rarity and high cost. These traits combine to make the WA2000 a perfect signature weapon for 47, a rare and precise killer.
- If 47 unpacks the rifle in tight quarters like an elevator shaft or water, it is possible that the assembly animation will be skipped altogether, which saves you a few important seconds.
- The WA2000 is available in .300 Winchester Magnum, 7.5x55mm Swiss and 7.62x51mm NATO. The in-game variant uses the latter; the W2000 in game is the "2nd Generation" of Walther WA2000, improved to use these calibers.
- The first popular appearance of the Walther WA2000 was in the Bond movie The Living Daylights in 1987. It remained the rifle's most prominent appearance up to Hitman: Codename 47 in 2000.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
- Although a bipod is present on the W2000 Sniper in Silent Assassin, it cannot be used.
Hitman: Blood Money
- In Blood Money, like all custom weapons with their standard counterparts, the WA2000 does not share sniper ammo with other sniper rifles.
- Note that assembly of the weapon will take a few seconds to complete, and the rifle briefcase is only non-detectable by metal detectors (requires upgrade to be non-detectable by X-ray machines), not personnel. The guards will take your briefcase to the security quarters if they spot it, whether it is empty or not.
