The Wet Floor Sign is a tool introduced in HITMAN™ 2, typically found placed inside of puddles. Unlike standard puddles, these puddles can knock out targets if they pass through it after its Wet Floor Sign has been removed. It can also be used as a non-lethal melee weapon or a thrown distraction.

Trivia[]
- NPCs will normally walk around a puddle designated by the wet floor sign.
- Unlike other water bodies in the game, the puddle itself does not seem to be capable of conducting electricity from electrocution devices such as the Car Battery.
- Knocking out targets by slipping them up in puddles is considered an accidental pacification; if their body is found later on, it will not detract from your score.
- Puddles can only be used for a single pacification, after an NPC slips the puddle will dissipate.
- While Wet Floor Signs are not illegal items, picking them up while not disguised as a Janitor or something similar is illegal.
- Taking Wet Floor Signs that have already been moved from their original spawn location is not a suspicious act, regardless of the disguise worn.
- Wet Floor Signs cannot be manually placed back into their initial upright position. Picking up a Wet Floor Sign and placing it back in its original position won't prevent an NPC from slipping in the puddle.
