"Welcome to picture perfect Whittleton Creek, USA - the quintessential American suburb. Experience wide roads flanked by yellowing maple trees, carefully groomed front yards and beautiful houses inhabited by neighborly people enjoying a quiet Saturday."

Whittleton Creek is a fictional suburb in the United States of America, located in the state of Vermont. It is the home of several white collar professionals, such as University staff and government employees.

The mission Another Life takes place in the suburb, where 47 must eliminate Janus and Nolan Cassidy while looking for clues. As such, there is a substantial security presence in the area, with numerous agents and bodyguards working undercover.

A Bitter Pill from the second Special Assignments Pack takes place in Whittleton Creek.

The Elusive Target The Serial Killer also takes place in the suburb, where 47 must eliminate The Censor target.

Description[]

Whittleton Creek is a quiet suburb, comprised mostly of private residences situated on a single block. There are numerous public spaces such as a park to the east, and a small plaza in the south accompanying a statue of Jonathan West. The eponymous creek circles around the eastern and southern borders of the map, and is lined with dense shrubs or mown grass. A wind farm appears to be situated on the southern bank of the creek, and two roads lead away from the area.

There are 14 properties located in Whittleton Creek, with the below being accessible in some form to 47:

  • Cassidy Property
  • Griswold Property
  • Janus Property
  • Lewinsky Property
  • Schmidt Property
  • West Property
  • Wilson Property
  • Batty Property
  • Buck Property

The residences and their gardens -- save for the Wilson property, which is hosting a neighborhood party and thus is open to all -- are private areas, as well as the construction site and the protected reservoir. The rest of the map, however, is mostly open to the public.

In addition to the uniformed police, there are numerous undercover security personnel stationed throughout the neighborhood.

Trivia[]

  • A small marijuana farm can be found in the garage of the Buck Property, where 47 can find both a Cannabis Joint and some Rat Poison.
  • An underground tunnel links the basements of the Janus and Griswold properties. Locating this tunnel unlocks the Tunnel Ducks Rule! challenge. This is a reference to Fallout 3 where there is a gang called the Tunnel Snakes. Their slogan is "Tunnel Snakes Rule!"
  • The Griswold property bears a resemblance to the Griswold house from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. This could be a reference to Christmas Vacation.
  • The following songs are played at the Wilson Property party: Benny Goodman's "Christopher Columbus," Glenn Miller's "Moonlight Serenade" and "Swingin' At The Ritz," Bing Crosby's "They All Laughed," and Harry Roy's "Five O'Clock Whistle"
  • In the Griswold property basement, there's an easter egg unlockable: if the player activates the music system and allows the song to play to the end, a beak staff will appear. The music acts as a distraction to the two nearby garbagemen (actually undercover security agents) so they must be pacified or eliminated to prevent them from turning off the music.
  • Some of the people at the Wilsons' party, the gardeners in the West property, and the garbage man in the Griswold property, are undercover bodyguards and they're armed with Hackl 9S Coverts.
  • The Playstation version renames the Griswold property the Hanson Property.
  • This level has the least number of coins compared other missions in the game.
  • An interesting oversight occurs at Janus' Property. If the oxygen tank in his bedroom is made to leak, it can be ignited by lighting the stove in the kitchen, which is directly under it.
  • The West Property has a flag in the front which appears to be a stand-in for the real flag of Vermont, but the in-game flag is missing the crest, and the pine tree has been replaced with an oak one, among other minor differences.
